There’s something truly special about a great cup of coffee. The aroma, the balance of bold flavours, the clarity, to the sweetness and then to the ultimate smooth creamy finish. It all starts long before the coffee reaches your cup, where part of this process is the roasting of the beans.
You see, at Air-Motion Roasters, every detail of our machines are designed with one goal in mind: helping you unlock the full potential of every bean.
At the heart of the Air-Motion Roaster is the Roast Chamber. This is where the magic happens. Unlike traditional drum roasters, our Air-Motion Roaster technology uses hot air to gently lift and circulate the beans. This fluid movement allows for an even heat distribution, meaning each bean is roasted consistently from start to finish.
This is then coupled with a specific designed contact between bean and the metal of the Roast Chamber. Then there’s a further contact of bean on bean, resulting in three types of heat transfer, namely a Convection, Conduction and a Radiative heat transfer. The final result is a clean, bold and well balanced flavour profile, just beautifully developed flavours in every cup, as one would expect !
Further to this and equally important, is the advanced airflow system that drives the roasting process. By using controlled hot air, our AMR Roasters have the ability to dig deeper and highlight the unique characteristics of each origin. Whether you’re working with bright, fruity African beans or rich, chocolatey, bold South American coffees, the Air-Motion technology allows you to roast with precision and bring out clarity in every batch.
Then there is the control panel, that gives you complete command over the roast. With adjustable temperature, airflow, and the ability to make adjustments on the roast in real time, you can fine-tune your roast profile to suit your exact needs. This level of control not only allows for creativity and precision, but also ensures a consistency in every batch. Once you’ve found the perfect roast, you can repeat it again and again with confidence, delivering the same exceptional cup every time.
Once roasting is complete, the beans are immediately stalled from the roasting process and then moved quickly into the cooling tray. This step is essential in preserving its flavour. Rapid cooling immediately stops the roasting process, locking in the desired profile and preventing overdevelopment. The faster the beans cool, the more flavour and balance you maintain in the final cup.
Every Air-Motion Roaster is also designed with a clean operation in mind. Efficient chaff collection and smooth airflow helps maintain a tidy roasting environment, while also supporting a healthy work space. It’s all part of creating a roasting experience that is not only environmentally friendly, but also practical and sustainable.
