Roastery Equipment Seller Coffee Equipment Pros Opens Texas Showroom

New and used roastery equipment marketplace Coffee Equipment Pros (CEPros) has opened its first physical equipment showroom, a fully functioning roastery in Central Texas designed to support the company’s predominantly online business.

The new 2,100-square-foot facility about 35 miles northwest of Austin in Spicewood, Texas, gives equipment-buying customers hands-on experience while also supporting live video walk-throughs and demos for online customers. The space also houses offices and meeting rooms for the company, which launched in 2023.

“We built this space so people can get hands-on before they make big capital decisions,” Rick Davis, Founder and CEO of Coffee Equipment Pros, told Daily Coffee News. “Buying a roaster shouldn’t feel like a leap of faith.”

As the exclusive North American distributor for Air-Motion Roasters, CEPros installed two Air-Motion machines in the showroom, with space for a third machine.

Equipment made by a handful of the dozens of other manufacturers represented in the CEPros inventory rounds out the range of ancillary tools on site, including weigh-and-fill machines, bag sealers, K-Cup systems and more.

Also up and running on the all-electric production floor that CEPros calls the “Roastery of the Future” are Ikawa and Aillio sample roasters, bean conveyance systems, a VortX EcoFilter afterburner alternative, destoners, digital analyzers and a cupping station.

“We see this as a place where equipment decisions get de-risked through real experience — roasting, cupping and seeing the workflow in action before anything is purchased,” Davis said.

CEPros also provides equipment relocation, logistics support, roastery consulting and other services for customers buying or selling through its marketplace, where more than 100 used coffee roasters from various brands are typically available.

As it settles into the new space, CEPros plans to develop live educational programming and host events. The company is also seeking permits to open the facility for commercial coffee production and launch a professional co-roastery program later this year.

“Most people don’t buy a roaster because they’ve seen one. They buy because they’ve experienced one,” Davis said. “This space is really about removing the guesswork, so operators can make confident decisions before they invest.”
